    Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in ASME B31.1, the following "Mandatory Appendices" in ASME B31.1 are recommended rather than mandatory: A, D, G, H, and J. The department shall not enforce compliance with "Mandatory Appendices" A, D, G, H, or J of ASME B31.1.
