ANACTmodifying provisions relating to a final hearing in a civil commitment proceeding for a sexually violent predator.

Be It Enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Iowa:

Section 1. Section 229A.8, subsection 5, paragraph e, unnumbered paragraph 1, Code 2009, is amended to read as follows: The burden is on the committed person to show by a preponderance of the evidence that

there is competent evidence which would lead a reasonable person to believe a final hearing should be held to determine either of the following The court shall consider all evidence pre- sented by both parties at the annual review. The burden is on the committed person to prove by a preponderance of the evidence that there is relevant and reliable evidence to rebut the presumption of continued commitment, which would lead a reasonable person to believe a fi- nal hearing should be held to determine either of the following:

AN ACT relating to the agricultural development authority, by providing for the reporting of its operations.

Be It Enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Iowa:

Section 1. Section 175.8, Code 2009, is amended by adding the following new subsection: NEW SUBSECTION. 4. The authority’s executive director, appointed pursuant to section

175.7, shall report semiannually to the legislative government oversight committees regarding the operations of the authority.
