CHAPTER 102 COMMERCIAL FISHING — REMOVAL OF UNDERUSED, UNDESIRABLE, AND

INJURIOUS ORGANISMS — LICENSING REQUIREMENTS

AN ACT relating to commercial fishing to remove underused, undesirable, and injurious organisms from waters of the state, and including applicability provisions.

Be It Enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Iowa:

Section 1. Section 482.1, subsection 2, paragraph c, Code 2019, is amended to read as follows: c. Authorize the director to enter into written contracts for the removal of underused,

undesirable, or injurious organisms from the waters of the state. The contracts shall specify all terms and conditions desired. Sections 482.4, 482.6, and 482.14 do not apply to these contracts. A person who enters into such a contract with the director, and any subcontractor under such a contract, shall have an appropriate valid commercial license under section 482.4. However, other persons assisting with performance of the contract or subcontract may be unlicensed.

Sec. 2. APPLICABILITY. This Act applies to contracts becoming effective on and after January 1, 2020.
