(A) This rule applies only to students who entered ninth grade for the first time on or after July 1, 2014, but prior to July 1, 2015.

(1) The department of education will continue to make the end-of-course examination in physical science available for students who wish to retake the examination until July 1, 2019.

(2) As of July 1, 2019, the department of education will no longer make the end-of-course examination in physical science available. Students who have not met the requirement prescribed by division (A)(2) of section 3313.618 of the Revised Code as of July 1, 2019 will be required to use biology as the end-of-course examination in science.
