   § 31-23-7  Brakes on motor-driven cycles.

(a) The administrator of the division of motor vehicles is authorized to

require an inspection of the brake on any motor-driven cycle and to disapprove

any brake which he or she finds will not comply with the performance ability

standard set forth in § 31-23-5, or which in his or her opinion is not

designed or constructed as to insure reasonable and reliable performance in

actual use.



   (b) The administrator of the division of motor vehicles may

refuse to register or may suspend or revoke the registration of any vehicle

referred to in this section when he or she determines that the brake on it does

not comply with the provisions of this section.



   (c) No person shall operate on any highway any vehicle

referred to in this section in the event the administrator of the division of

motor vehicles has disapproved the brake equipment upon the vehicle or type of

vehicle.
