(a) The department shall designate and maintain a person
responsible for statewide accessibility initiatives.
(b) Pursuant to §206.54 of this title, each state
agency shall publish a current accessibility policy which includes
the standards and specifications of this chapter.
(c) Each state agency's accessibility policy shall
require a published plan by which EIR will be brought into compliance
with the Technical Accessibility Standards and Specifications of this
chapter. The plan will include a process for corrective actions to
remediate non-compliant items.
(d) The head of each state agency shall designate an
EIR Accessibility Coordinator who shall be organizationally placed
to develop, support and maintain their internal accessibility policy
agency-wide. The state agency's designation must contain the individual's
name and other information in the format prescribed by the department.
(e) A state agency shall inform the department within
30 days whenever the agency EIR Accessibility Coordinator position
is vacant, or a new/replacement EIR Accessibility Coordinator is designated.
(f) An agency shall establish goals for making its
EIR accessible, which includes progress measurements towards meeting
those goals.
