(a) Environmental testing laboratory assessments shall be conducted:

  (1) before accreditation is granted, except as provided in §25.14
of this title (relating to Term of Accreditation); and
  (2) at least every two years after an environmental testing
laboratory receives accreditation.
(b) Assessments may be announced or unannounced.
