These rules are promulgated under the authority of the Medical Practice
Act, Texas Occupations Code Ann., Title 3, Subtitle B, and the Texas Contact
Lens Prescription Act, Texas Occupations Code Ann., Title 3, Subtitle F, Chapter
353, to set forth the criteria under which a patient may request and receive
a contact lens prescription and under which a physician shall provide such
prescription.
