JOBS program established, duties of department.
208.405. 1. No later than October 1, 1990, the family support
division shall establish and operate a job opportunities and basic skills
training (JOBS) program for AFDC recipients.
2. The family support division, subject to appropriation, shall
administer the job opportunities and basic skills training (JOBS) program
as provided in Part F of Title IV of the Social Security Act.
3. Pursuant to Public Law 100-485, state funds expended for
education, training and employment activities, including supportive
services, to assist aid to families with dependent children recipients in
becoming self-sufficient shall be no less than the level expended for such
purposes in fiscal year 1986.
4. The department shall plan and coordinate all the JOBS program with
the Missouri Job Training Coordinating Council, educational training and
basic skills training and opportunities afforded under the provisions of
this act with the department of elementary and secondary education, the
department of labor and industrial relations and the department of economic
development so as not to duplicate any existing program and services now
offered. The existing personnel in those departments together with such
added personnel as may be authorized by appropriations shall be utilized in
carrying out the provisions of this act.
