SECTION .0400 ‑ REMOTE SERVICE UNITS

 

04 NCAC 16C .0401          DEFINITIONS

As used in this Section, unless the context otherwise

requires, the term:

(1)           "Generic data" means statistical

information which does not identify any individual account holder.

(2)           "Personal security identifier" means any

word, number, or other security identifier essential for an account holder to

gain access to an account through use of an unmanned remote service unit.

(3)           "Remote service unit" means a customer

communications terminal, point‑of‑sale terminal, automated teller

machine, cash‑dispensing machine, automated or other direct or remote

information processing device or machine, whether manned or unmanned, through

or by means of which funds or information relating to any financial service or

transaction rendered to the public is stored and transmitted, instantaneously

or otherwise to or from a savings institution terminal or terminals controlled

or used by or with other parties.
