The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of powers conferred by section 126(3) of the National Health Service Act 1977(1) and section 5(1) of the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990(2) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Essex Ambulance Service National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Amendment Order 1996 and shall come into force on 28th October 1996.

Amendment of NHS trust Establishment Order

2.  In Article 4 of the Essex Ambulance Service National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Order 1991(3) for “5 non-executive” there shall be substituted “4 non-executive” and for “5 executive” there shall be substituted “4 executive”.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order amends the constitution of an NHS trust established by Order under Part I of the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990, by reducing the number of non-executive directors from 5 to 4 and the number of executive directors from 5 to 4.
