SPORTS GROUNDS AND SPORTING EVENTS
The Sports Grounds and Sporting Events (Designation) (Scotland) Amendment Order 1996

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 18 of the Criminal Law (Consolidation) (Scotland) Act 1995(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

1.  This Order may be cited as the Sports Grounds and Sporting Events (Designation) (Scotland) Amendment Order 1996 and shall come into force on 9th November 1996.

2.  Part 1 of Schedule 1 to the Sports Grounds and Sporting Events (Designation) (Scotland) Order 1985(2) is amended–

(a)by deleting from the list of sports grounds specified there the following name:–

Telford Street Park, Inverness;

and

(b)by inserting at the appropriate place in that list (which is in alphabetical order) the following name:–

Caledonian Stadium, Inverness.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order amends the Sports Grounds and Sporting Events (Designation) (Scotland) Order 1985 which designates certain sports grounds and classes of sporting event for the purposes of Part II of the Criminal Law (Consolidation) (Scotland) Act 1995 (previously Part V of the Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 1980). As a result of the amendments, Telford Street Park, Inverness ceases to be, and Caledonian Stadium, Inverness becomes, a designated sports ground.
