The Dental Auxiliaries (Amendment) Regulations 1996

Whereas a draft of these Regulations, approved by the Privy Council, has been approved by resolution of each House of Parliament, pursuant to section 45(9) of the Dentists Act 1984(1) :

Now, therefore, the General Dental Council, in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section 45(7) of the Dentists Act 1984 and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Regulations:—

Citation and commencement

1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Dental Auxiliaries (Amendment) Regulations 1996 and shall come into force on 1st December 1996.

Amendment of regulation 6 of the Dental Auxiliaries Regulations 1986

2.  In regulation 6 of the Dental Auxiliaries Regulations 1986(2) (fees prescribed by the General Dental Council), for “£7.00” there shall be substituted “£10.00”; for “£10.00” there shall be substituted “£20.00”; and for “£2.00” there shall be substituted “£5.00”.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations amend the Dental Auxiliaries Regulations 1986 (S.I. 1986/887) to increase, from 1st December 1996, the fees prescribed by the General Dental Council for first enrolment of a name in a roll from £7 to £10, for retention of a name in a roll from £10 to £20, and for the restoration of a name to a roll from £2 to £5.
