The Secretary of State, in exercise of the power conferred upon him by section 2(2)(b) of the Gaming (Bingo) Act 1985(1), hereby makes the following Order:

1.  This Order may be cited as the Gaming (Bingo) Act (Variation of Monetary Limit) Order 1995 and shall come into force on 1st March 1995.

2.  The Gaming (Bingo) Act (Variation of Monetary Limit) Order 1992(2) is hereby revoked.

3.  The sum of £250,000 is hereby specified as the maximum amount to be paid as a prize in respect of a game of multiple bingo.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order provides that the maximum amount to be paid as a prize in respect of a game of multiple bingo shall be £250,000. It thereby replaces the limit of £75,000 specified for the purposes of section 2(2)(b) of the Gaming (Bingo) Act 1985 by the Gaming (Bingo) Act (Variation of Monetary Limit) Order 1992 (S.I. 1992/3076).
