The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 18(5) of the Prisons (Scotland) Act 1989(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Rules:

1.  These Rules may be cited as the Local Review Committee (Scotland) Revocation Rules 1995 and shall come into force on 1st June 1995.

2.  Rule 8 of the Local Review Committee (Scotland) Rules 1967(2) is hereby revoked.

3.  The Local Review Committee (Scotland) Rules 1967 and the Rules specified in the Schedule to these Rules are revoked with effect from 1st September 1995.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Rules)
These Rules revoke the Local Review Committee (Scotland) Rules 1967. Rule 8 of those Rules is revoked on 1st June. The remainder of those Rules (including the various Rules amending those Rules) are revoked with effect from 1st September 1995.

1989 c. 45; section 18(5), which re-enacts, for Scotland, section 59(6) of the Criminal Justice Act 1967 (c. 80), is, notwithstanding its repeal by the Prisoners and Criminal Proceedings (Scotland) Act 1993 (c. 9), an “existing provision” for the purposes of Schedule 6 of that Act.
