ENTERPRISE ZONES
The East Midlands Enterprise Zones (Bassetlaw)(Designation) Order 1995

Whereas the Bassetlaw District Council, acting pursuant to Schedule 32 to the Local Government, Planning and Land Act 1980(1) (“the Schedule”), on 1st August 1995 by resolution adopted the East Midlands Enterprise Zone No. 4 (Manton Wood) Scheme, and subsequently published an advertisement complying with paragraph 3 of the Schedule on 23rd August 1995 in the Nottingham Evening Post (a newspaper circulating in the area to which the scheme relates) and in the London Gazette;
And whereas six weeks has expired since the first publication of that advertisement, and no application has been made to the High Court under paragraph 4 of the Schedule in respect of the scheme:

Now therefore the Secretary of State for the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by paragraph 5 of the Schedule and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and with the consent of the Treasury, hereby makes the following Order:—

Citation, commencement and interpretation

1.  This Order may be cited as the East Midlands Enterprise Zones (Bassetlaw) (Designation) Order 1995 and shall come into force on 16th November 1995.

2.  In this Order:

“the Council” means the Bassetlaw District Council;

“the map” means the map prepared in duplicate, marked “Map referred to in the East Midlands Enterprise Zones (Bassetlaw) (Designation) Order 1995”, and signed by an Under Secretary in the Department of the Environment, one duplicate of which has been deposited and is available for inspection at the principal offices of the Council and the other at the offices of the Secretary of State for the Environment; and “the Zone area”means the area—

(a)
the boundary of which is represented by the outside edge of a black line edged internally with a stippled band on the map; and

(b)
to which the East Midlands Enterprise Zone No. 4 (Manton Wood) Scheme relates.

Enterprise zone in Bassetlaw

3.  — The Zone area is hereby designated as an enterprise zone, and the Council is hereby designated as the enterprise zone authority for that zone.

Period of designation

4.  Designation under this Order shall take effect on 16th November 1995, and the designated area shall remain an enterprise zone for a period of 10 years from that date.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order designates as an enterprise zone an area which is located in the Manton Wood area of the district of Bassetlaw, and which has been the subject of an enterprise zone scheme adopted by the Bassetlaw District Council (the East Midlands Enterprise Zone No. 4 (Manton Wood) Scheme).
The designation is effective for a period of 10 years.
The location and area of the enterprise zone are shown on the plan forming part of this note. The detailed map referred to in article 2 may be inspected at the principal offices of the Bassetlaw District Council, and at the offices of the Secretary of State for the Environment.
