The Boundary Bridges (Wales) (Appointed Day) Order 1995

The Secretary of State for Wales, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by paragraph 18(2) of Schedule 17 to the Local Government (Wales) Act 1994(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:—

1.  This Order may be cited as the Boundary Bridges (Wales) (Appointed Day) Order 1995.

2.  The appointed day for the purposes of paragraph 18(2) of Schedule 17 to the Local Government (Wales) Act 1994 is 1st January 1996.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order appoints, for the purposes of paragraph 18(2) of Schedule 17 to the Local Government (Wales) Act 1994, 1st January 1996 as the day before which new councils established under that Act are to agree which of them is to be the highway authority for a cross border highway bridge, other than a bridge forming part of a trunk road.
