The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and the Secretary of State, being Ministers designated(1) for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972(2) in relation to the common agricultural policy of the European Community, acting jointly, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by the said section 2(2) and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Regulations:—

Title, commencement and interpretation

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Products of Animal Origin (Import and Export) (Amendment) Regulations 1995 and shall come into force on 1 December 1995.

(2) In these Regulations the “principal Regulations” means the Products of Animal Origin (Import and Export) Regulations 1992(3).

Amendment of the principal Regulations

2.—(1) In each of the provisions of the principal Regulations which are specified in paragraph (2) below, for the words “Divisional Veterinary Officer” there shall be substituted the words “Divisional Veterinary Manager”.

(2) The following provisions of the principal Regulations are specified for the purposes of paragraph (1) above—

(a)regulation 1(2);

(b)regulation 7(5);

(c)regulation 7(6);

(d)regulation 10(7); and

(e)regulation 15(5).

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations amend the Products of Animal Origin (Import and Export) Regulations 1992 (S.I. 1992/3298) to replace the term “Divisional Veterinary Officer” with the term “Divisional Veterinary Manager” (regulation 2) to reflect changes in the organisation of the Veterinary Field Service.
