The Colleges of Further Education (Changes of Name) (Scotland) Order 1995

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 3(4) of the Further and Higher Education (Scotland) Act 1992(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, having undertaken such consultation as appeared to him to be appropriate, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Colleges of Further Education (Changes of Name) (Scotland) Order 1995 and shall come into force on 1st January 1996.

Changes of names of colleges of further education

2.  The name of each college of further education specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this Order is changed to the name specified opposite that name in column 2 of that Schedule, and in the name of the board of management of each such college the name of the college is changed accordingly.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order changes the names of Falkirk College of Technology and Telford College. Each college is under the control of a separate board of management in terms of the Further and Higher Education (Scotland) Act 1992 and the Order therefore also changes the name of each board of management to reflect the new name of the college.
