The Department of Finance and Personnel in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 3(4) and (7) of the Superannuation (Northern Ireland) Order 1972(1) and now vested in it(2) and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

1.  This Order may be cited as the Superannuation (Planning Appeals Commission) Order (Northern Ireland) 1999 and shall come into operation on 19th April 1999.

2.  There shall be added to the employments and offices listed in Schedule 1(3) to the Superannuation (Northern Ireland) Order 1972 with effect from 1st January 1985 employment as a Principal Professional Commissioner(4).

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order.)
This Order adds employment as a Principal Professional Commissioner in the Offices of the Planning Appeals Commission to the schedule of employments and offices for whom the Department of Finance and Personnel may make pension schemes. It is retrospective by virtue of Article 3(7) of the Superannuation (Northern Ireland) Order 1972.
