Her Majesty, in exercise of the power conferred upon Her by section 37(2) of the British Nationality Act 1981(1), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:

1.  This Order may be cited as the British Nationality (Cameroon and Mozambique) Order 1998 and shall come into force on 25th January 1999.

2.  Schedule 3 to the British Nationality Act 1981 (countries whose citizens are Commonwealth citizens) shall be amended by inserting the word “Cameroon” under the word “Brunei” and the word “Mozambique” under the word “Mauritius”.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order adds Cameroon and Mozambique to Schedule 3 to the British Nationality Act 1981 with the result that citizens of Cameroon and citizens of Mozambique shall have the status of Commonwealth citizens.
