The Swansea Bay Port Health Authority (Amendment) Order 1998

The Secretary of State for Wales, in exercise of powers conferred by sections 2, 3 and 4 of the Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 1984(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, having given the notices required by the aforesaid sections 2 and 4 of his proposal to make this Order and not having received any notice of objection thereto, hereby makes the following Order:—

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Swansea Bay Port Health Authority (Amendment) Order 1998 and shall come into force on 13th July 1998.

2.  The Swansea Bay Port Health Authority Order 1991(2) shall be amended as follows:—

Amendments to the 1991 Order

(a) For paragraph (2) of Article 2 there shall be substituted the following paragraph:—

“(2) There shall be excluded from the port health district—

(a)all land in the Port of Swansea lying

(i)to the North of an imaginary line drawn from the junction of Kings Road and Langdon Road along the northern side of the Prince of Wales Dock, continuing in an easterly direction along the northern boundary of Langdon Road and thence contiguous with the boundary of the Associated British Ports dock estate to its intersection with an un-named road leading to Fabian Way and thence eastwards along the northern boundary of the road to its junction with Fabian Way;

(ii)to the west of an imaginary line drawn from the junction of Kings Road and Langdon Road along the south-western side of the Prince of Wales Dock and then south to the eastern end of the River Tawe Barrage;

(iii)to the west of the River Tawe and to the north of the River Tawe Barrage;

and

(b)all waters of the River Tawe (whether tidal or otherwise) and those entering or connected to it north of the River Tawe Barrage.”

(b) In Schedule 1:—

(i)For the words “Proceedings of disqualification” opposite the words “Section 92”, there shall be substituted the words “Proceedings for disqualification”.

(ii)For the words “Sections 99” there shall be substituted the words “Section 99”.

(ii)After the words:—

“Section 100
Admission of the public and press”

there shall be added the words:

“Sections 100A to 100K
Access to Meetings and Documents of Certain Authorities, committees and sub-committees.”.

(iv)The words “Sections 154–163 and Sections 165–167” and the words “Accounts and Audit” shall be deleted.

(c) For Schedule 2 there shall be substituted the following Schedule:—
