The Secretary of State for the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 134 and 135 of, and paragraph 1 of Schedule 26 to, the Local Government, Planning and Land Act 1980(1), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order—

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Sheffield Development Corporation (Area and Constitution) Order 1997 and shall come into force on 1st April 1997.

Urban development area

2.—(1) Articles 2 and 3 of the Sheffield Development Corporation (Area and Constitution) Order 1988(2) are hereby revoked.

(2) So much of the Sheffield Development Corporation (Area and Constitution) Order 1988 as has not previously been revoked shall be revoked with effect from 1st July 1997.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order revokes the Sheffield Development Corporation (Area and Constitution) Order 1988 which designated the Sheffield urban development area and established the Sheffield Development Corporation. Articles 2 and 3 of that Order are revoked from 1st April 1997 and the remainder from 1st July 1997.
