Explanatory Note
(This note is not part of the Regulations.)
These Regulations revoke five Statutory Rules which prohibited the use of a motor car horn between certain hours in six specified areas of Northern Ireland. The Rules are obsolete as there is a general prohibition, subject to certain exceptions, of the use of an audible warning instrument on a vehicle between 11.30 p.m. and 7.00 a.m. This prohibition is contained in regulation 96 of the Motor Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1989.
