The Secure Tenancies (Notices) (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 1997

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 83(2) and (7) of the Housing Act 1985(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations—

Citation and commencement

1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Secure Tenancies (Notices) (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 1997 and shall come into force on 12th February 1997.

Amendment

2—(1) The notice in Part I of the Schedule to the Secure Tenancies (Notices) Regulations 1987(2) (notice of seeking possession), as substituted by regulation 2 of the Secure Tenancies (Notices) (Amendment) Regulations 1997(3), is amended as follows.

(2) In the last sentence of the words substituted as mentioned in paragraph (1), for “the date inserted above” substitute “the date this Notice is given”.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations amend the Secure Tenancies (Notices) Regulations 1987 to rectify an error in an amendment made to those Regulations by the Secure Tenancies (Notices) (Amendment) Regulations 1997. The amendment is to the form of notice of seeking possession to be given by a landlord to a secure tenant with a periodic tenancy.
