The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 81(2) of the Self-Governing Schools etc. (Scotland) Act 1989(1), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation

1.  This Order may be cited as the Self-Governing Schools etc. (Scotland) Act 1989 (Commencement No. 3) Order 1997.

2.  Section 70 of the Self-Governing Schools etc. (Scotland) Act 1989 (appraisal of teachers) shall come into force on 19th February 1997.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order brings into force section 70 of the Self-Governing Schools etc. (Scotland) Act 1989 (appraisal of teachers).
All the provisions of the Act are now in force, except Schedule 10, paragraph 10 (which amends the School Boards (Scotland) Act 1988).
