The Free Zone (Port of Sheerness) (Substitution of Responsible Authority) Order 1997

Coming into force
1st April 1997

The Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 100A (4)(b) of the Customs and Excise Management Act 1979(1) and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby will make the following Order:

1.  This Order may be cited as the Free Zone (Port of Sheerness) (Substitution of Responsible Authority) Order 1997 and shall come into force on 1st April 1997.

2.  The responsible authority for the area designated a free zone by article 2(1) of the Free Zone (Port of Sheerness) Designation Order 1994(2) shall, in substitution for the Medway Ports Limited who were appointed by article 3 of that Order, be Port of Sheerness Limited, whose Registered Office is at Maritime Centre, Port of Liverpool, Liverpool L21 1LA.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order amends the Free Zone (Port of Sheerness) Designation Order 1994 by substituting Port of Sheerness Limited as the responsible authority for the free zone in place of Medway Ports Limited who were appointed by the previous Order.
