The A46 Trunk Road (Newark To Lincoln Improvement) (Brough Bypass) (Detrunking) Order 1997

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by section 10 of the Highways Act 1980(1) and now vested in him(2), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf:
1. This Order may be cited as the A46 Trunk Road (Newark to Lincoln Improvement) (Brough Bypass) (Detrunking) Order 1997 and shall come into force on 9th May 1997.
2. In this Order—
(i)“the new trunk road” means the new highway which the Secretary of State proposes to construct referred to in article 2 of the A46 Trunk Road (Newark to Lincoln Improvement) (Brough Bypass) Order 1997(3); and
(ii)“the trunk road” means the A46 Trunk Road.
3. The length of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to be a trunk road from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the Nottinghamshire County Council that the new trunk road is open for traffic.

THE SCHEDULELENGTH OF THE TRUNK ROAD CEASING TO BE A TRUNK ROAD
The length of the trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is situated between the starting and termination points of the route of the new trunk road and is shown by broad black dashes on the plan numbered HA10/EM100 marked “The A46 Trunk Road (Newark to Lincoln Improvement) (Brough Bypass) (Detrunking) Order 1996”, signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport and deposited at The Department of Transport, Great Minster House, 76 Marsham Street, London SW1P 4DR.
