The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 126(3) of the National Health Service Act 1977(1) and section 5(1) of the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990(2) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Greater Manchester Ambulance Service National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Amendment Order 1997 and shall come into force on 1st November 1997.

Amendment of NHS trust Establishment Order

2.  In Article 4 of the Greater Manchester Ambulance Service National Health Service Trust (Establishment) Order 1993(3) for “5 non-executive” there shall be substituted “4 non-executive” and for “5 executive” there shall be substituted “4 executive”.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order amends the constitution of an NHS trust established by Order under Part I of the National Health Service and Community Care Act 1990, by reducing the number of non-executive directors and executive directors from 5 to 4 in each case.
