The Cumbria College of Art and Design Further Education Corporation (Transfer to the Higher Education Sector) Order 1997

Whereas it appears to the Secretary of State that the full-time equivalent enrolment number of the institution conducted by Cumbria College of Art and Design Further Education Corporation(1) for courses of higher education exceeds 55 per cent of its total full-time equivalent enrolment number;

Now therefore the Secretary of State for Education and Employment, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 122A of the Education Reform Act 1988(2), hereby makes the following Order:

1.  This Order may be cited as the Cumbria College of Art and Design Further Education Corporation (Transfer to the Higher Education Sector) Order 1997 and shall come into force on 1st August 1997.

2.  On the date on which this Order comes into force Cumbria College of Art and Design Further Education Corporation shall cease to be a further education corporation and shall become a higher education corporation.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order makes provision for the transfer of Cumbria College of Art and Design Further Education Corporation to the higher education sector. On 1st August 1997 that corporation becomes a higher education corporation.
