Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order provides that section 1 of the Superannuation Act 1972 shall apply to persons serving in employment which is remunerated out of the National Lottery Distribution Fund. It adds employment of staff by the National Lottery Charities Board, which is funded from the National Lottery Distribution Fund, to the employments and offices listed in Schedule 1 to the Superannuation Act 1972 so that section 1 of that Act (under which the Principal Civil Service Pension Scheme, the Civil Service Additional Voluntary Contribution Scheme and the Civil Service Compensation Scheme have been made) may apply to them.
Provision for the appointment of the staff of the National Lottery Charities Board was made by section 37 of the National Lottery etc. Act 1993 and Schedule 5 thereto.
Under the power conferred by section 1(8)(a) of the Superannuation Act 1972 this Order takes effect from 1st July 1994.
