Roads (Speed Limit) (No. 9) Order (Northern Ireland) 1996

The Department of the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Articles 50(4)(c) and 211A of the Road Traffic (Northern Ireland) Order 1981(1) and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Roads (Speed Limit) (No. 9) Order (Northern Ireland) 1996 and shall come into operation on 27th January 1997.

Speed restrictions on certain roads

2.  The Department hereby directs that each of the roads and lengths of road specified in the Schedule shall be a restricted road for the purposes of Article 50 of the Road Traffic (Northern Ireland) Order 1981.

Article 2
SCHEDULE

Restricted Roads

1.  Audley Roundabout, Route A26, Ballymena.

2.  Greenmount Roundabout, Route A26, Ballymena.

3.  North Road, Route A26, Ballymena, from its junction with Audley Roundabout, Route A26, to its junction with Greenmount Roundabout, Route A26.

4.  Park Way, Route A42, Ballymena, from its junction with Greenmount Roundabout, Route A26, to its junction with Thomas Street Roundabout, Route A42.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order.)
This Order makes the roads and lengths of road specified in the Schedule restricted roads, thereby imposing a 30 miles per hour speed limit on those roads.
