The Secretary of State in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 29(1) and 198(2) of the Licensing Act 1964(1), hereby makes the following Order:

1.  This Order may be cited as the Licensing (Fees) (Amendment) Order 1996 and shall come into force on 1st May 1996.

2.  The Schedule to the Licensing (Fees) Order 1978(2) shall be amended by inserting, after the entry relating to the grant of a special hours certificate, the following entries—

Grant of provisional special hours certificate—ss. 77A and 78ZA

Declaring provisional grant of special hours certificate final—ss. 77A(3) and 78ZA(3)

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order amends the Licensing (Fees) Order 1978 by prescribing the fees chargeable for the grant of a provisional special hours certificate (£10) and for declaring the provisional grant of such a certificate final (£4). Sections 77A and 78ZA of the Licensing Act 1964, which relate to provisional special hours certificates, were inserted by the Deregulation (Special Hours Certificates) Order 1996 (S.I. 1996/977).
