The Road Traffic (Special Parking Area) (London Borough of Newham) (Amendment) Order 1996

Whereas the council of the London borough of Newham has applied to the Secretary of State for Transport for an order to be made under section 76 of the Road Traffic Act 1991(1) and the Secretary of State has consulted the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis in accordance with section 76(2) of that Act:

NOW, the Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 76(1) and section 77(6) of the Road Traffic Act 1991 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:—

Citation and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (Special Parking Area) (London Borough of Newham) (Amendment) Order 1996 and shall come into force on 20th May 1996.

Amendment of the Road Traffic (Special Parking Area) (London Borough of Newham) Order 1994

2.  The amendments to the Schedule to the Road Traffic (Special Parking Area) (London Borough of Newham) Order 1994(2) set out in the Schedule to this Order shall have effect.

Article 2

THE SCHEDULEAMENDMENTS TO THE SCHEDULE TO THE ROAD TRAFFIC (SPECIAL PARKING AREA) (LONDON BOROUGH OF NEWHAM) ORDER 1994

1.  For paragraphs 5 to 22 there shall be substituted—

“5.  Abbey Lane between its junction with High Street, Stratford (A11) and a point 37 metres south east of the south eastern kerbline of High Street.

6.  Angel Lane—

(a)(east side) between its junction with Great Eastern Road (A11) and a point 79 metres north of the northern kerbline of Great Eastern Road;

(b)(west side) between its junction with Great Eastern Road (A11) and a point 81 metres north of the northern kerbline of Great Eastern Road.

7.  Bisson Road between its junction with Abbey Lane and a point 13 metres south east of the southern kerbline of Abbey Lane.

8.  Blaker Road between its junction with High Street, Stratford (A11) and a point 13 metres north of the north eastern kerbline of High Street.

10A.  Bridge Terrace between its junction with Bridge Road and a point 5 metres north east of the north eastern kerbline of Bridge Road.

11.  Broadway (north western arm—north west side) between its junction with The Grove (A11) and a point 3 metres south west of the party wall of 132-134 Broadway, Stratford.

12.  Burford Road between its junction with High Street, Stratford (A11) and a point 35 metres south east of the south eastern kerbline of High Street.

13.  Buxton Road between its junction with Leytonstone Road (A11) and a point 25 metres east of the eastern kerbline of Leytonstone Road.

14.  Cam Road—

(a)(east side) between its junction with High Street, Stratford (A11) and a point 24 metres south east of the south eastern kerbline of High Street;

(b)(west side) between its junction with High Street, Stratford (A11) and a point 20 metres south east of the south eastern kerbline of High Street.

15.  Carpenters Road between its junction with High Street, Stratford (A11) and a point 70 metres north west of the north western kerbline of High Street.

16.  Chant Street (north western arm).

17.  Cherry Tree Road between its junction with Leytonstone Road (A11) and a point 24 metres west of the western kerbline of Leytonstone Road.

18.  Chobham Road between its junction with Leytonstone Road (A11) and the easternmost boundary of 2 Chobham Road.

19.  Cooks Road between its junction with High Street, Stratford (A11) and a point 12 metres north west of the north western kerbline of High Street.

20.  Deason Street between its junction with High Street, Stratford (A11) and a point 12 metres south east of the south eastern kerbline of High Street.

2.  Paragraph 23 shall be omitted.

3.  For paragraphs 24 to 31 there shall be substituted—

4.  Paragraph 32 shall be omitted.

(b)the carriageway lying between the two island sites which comprise the western boundary of the unnamed road and which lies opposite 91 The Grove;

(c)(southernmost junction) between its junction with The Grove (A11) and a point 15 metres north east of the north eastern kerbline of The Grove, measured on the south east side.

52A.  Unnamed road (lying to the south east of High Street, Stratford (A11) and fronting Meesons’s Wharf)—

(a)(north easternmost junction) between its junction with High Street, Stratford (A11) and a point 7 metres south east of the south eastern kerbline of High Street, measured on the north east side;

(b)(south westernmost junction) between its junction with High Street, Stratford (A11) and a point 8 metres south east of the south eastern kerbline of High Street.

52B.  The carriageway linking the north western arm of Broadway and The Grove (which lies between the island site situated opposite 108–110 to 122 Broadway, Stratford and St. John’s Church south west side) between its junction with The Grove (A11) and a point 18 metres north west of the north western kerbline of The Grove.”

This Order amends the Schedule to the Road Traffic (Special Parking Area) (London Borough of Newham) Order 1994, which lists the roads excluded from the special parking area designated by that Order.
