The Chester–Bangor Trunk Road (A55) (Pont Dafydd to Waen Improvement, Detrunking) Order 1996

The Secretary of State for Wales makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred upon him by section 10 of the Highways Act 1980(1) and of all other enabling powers:—

1.  The length of trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order and shown by broad striped hatching on the deposited plan shall cease to be a trunk road as from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the County Council of Denbighshire that the adjoining widened length of trunk road is open for through traffic.

2.  In this Order:—

(a) All measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway:

(b) “the deposited plan” means the plan numbered HA10/2 WO118 marked “The Chester to Bangor Trunk Road (A55) (Pont Dafydd to Waen Improvement, Detrunking) Order 1996” signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Wales and deposited at the Welsh Office Repository, Curran Embankment, Cardiff.

3.  This Order shall come into force on 11th September 1996 and may be cited as The Chester–Bangor Trunk Road (A55) (Pont Dafydd to Waen Improvement, Detrunking) Order 1996.

SCHEDULETHE LENGTH OF TRUNK ROAD CEASING TO BE A TRUNK ROAD

The length of trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is a part width of the length which commences from a point 59 metres east of the entrance to the property of Bryn Clwyd, near Pont Dafydd and extends in an easterly direction for a distance of about 1150 metres to the junction of the trunk road with the B5429 Rhuddlan Road approximately 117 metres west of the western side of the property known as Primrose Cottage all in the community of Waen.
