Act No. 4 of 2012

AN ACT TO AMEND THE PUBLIC SERVICE ACT

BE IT ENACTED by the King and Legislative Assembly of Tonga in the Legislature of

the Kingdom as follows:

1 Short Title

(1) This Act may be cited as the Public Service (Amendment) Act 2012.

(2) The Public Service Act 2002 is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act.

2 Section 2 amended

Section 2 of the Principal Act is amended by deleting it and replacing it with the

following:

“2 Application of this Act

(1) This Act shall apply to the following persons:

(a) All chief executive officers and employees in a
Government Ministry, as listed in Part 1 of

Schedule I; and

(b) All chief executive officers and employees in a
Government Agency, as listed in Part 2 of

Schedule I;

(2) This Act shall not apply to persons listed under Schedule
II.”

3 Schedules amended

The Schedules of the Principal Act are deleted and replaced with the Schedules to

this Act.
