(AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 2013
RETIREMENT FUND ACT 1998
IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 12 of the Retirement Fund Act
1998, the Prime Minister with the consent of Cabinet makes the following
Regulations -
1 Short Title
(1) 'These Regulations may be cited as the Retirement Fund (Administration)
(Amendment) Regulations 2013.
(2) The Retirement Fund (Administration) Regulations 1999, as amended, are in
these Regulations referred to as the Principal Regulations.
2 Regulation 3 amended
Regulation 3(1) of the Principal Regulations is amended by inserting the following
as a new paragraph (c):
“(c) the officer is a member of the Tonga Defence Services.”.
3 New regulation 6A inserted
The Principal Regulations is amended by inserting immediately following regulation
5(6) the following:

“Tonga Defence Services
(6A) For the purposes of these Regulations, the retirement age prescribed
under the Tonga Defence Services Act 1992, or regulations made
thereunder, for any member of the Tonga Defence Services shall be
deemed to be his retirement age.”.
