CHAPTER 287

AIRPORT AUTHORITY

AIRPORT AUTHORITY (PASSENGER FACILITY AND SECURITY CHARGE) ORDER

(SECTION 7) [Commencement 1st July, 2007]

1. This Order may be cited as the Airport Authority (Passenger Facility and Security Charge) Order.

2. In this Order — “domestic passenger” means a passenger whose

final destination is an airport in The Bahamas; “international passenger” means a passenger whose

final destination is an airport in a foreign jurisdiction.

3. Every passenger departing from the Lynden Pindling International Airport shall, subject to the exception in this order, pay a passenger facility charge and a security charge as specified in the Schedule to this Order.

4. The charges levied in the First Schedule shall be paid at the time of purchase of the airline ticket, and the said charges shall be collected by the Nassau Airport Development Company Limited. The Passenger Facility Charges shall be utilized by the said company for the development and operations of the Lynden Pindling International Airport; and the Security Charges shall be paid to the account of the Airport Authority.

5. The persons listed in the Second Schedule are exempt from payment of the charges in this order.

FIRST SCHEDULE

Charges

A. Departing International Passengers Fee per departing passenger (i) Passenger facility Charge - $20.00 (ii) Security Charge - $ 7.00

B. Departing Domestic Passengers

Fee per departing passenger (i) Passenger facility Charge - $ 5.00 (ii) Security Charge - $ 5.00

SECOND SCHEDULE

Passengers exempt from payment of charges 1. Infants (child under 2 years of age) 2. Diplomats 3. Passengers on flights that are

involuntarily re-routed 4. Airline crew on duty 5. Personnel on military service.
