PROHIBITION OF THE IMPORTATION OF PLANTS (STATE OF CALIFORNIA) ORDER

(SECTION 5) [Commencement 7th April, 1982]

1. This Order may be cited as the Prohibition of the Importation of Plants (State of California) Order.

2. The importation into The Bahamas directly or indirectly from any port or place in the State of California in the United States of America of any plant (in which term is included trees, shrubs, herbs, or vegetables; and cuttings, bulbs, seeds, berries, buds and grafts; and the fruit or product of any plant and the root, trunk, stem, branch or leaf of any plant including emptied pods, husks or skins) or any package in which any plant (as hereinbefore defined), whether the same is intended for consumption as food or otherwise or any paper or any other article which has been packed with any plant as aforesaid is hereby prohibited unless there is produced at the time of such importation a certificate issued by the United States Department of Agriculture or by the Department of Agriculture of the State of California to the effect that the imported plant is free from any harmful or dangerous disease or insect.
