PART I Subsidiary Legislation under The Bahamas Bar Act, 1971

BAR COUNCIL (MONTH FOR MEETING) REGULATIONS

(SECTION 6) [Commencement 14th June, 1973]

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Bar Council (Month for Meeting) Regulations.

2. The month of June is hereby prescribed as the month in which the meeting required by subsection (1) of section 6 of the Bahamas Bar Act, shall be held in every year.

BAR PUPILLAGE REGULATIONS

(SECTIONS 18 and 40) [Commencement 1st June, 1973]

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Bar Pupillage Regulations.

2. In these Regulations the expression “pupil” means a person called to the Bar to whom section 18 of the Bahamas Bar Act applies, and the expression “pupillage” has a corresponding meaning.

3. A counsel and attorney shall not receive a pupil into his Chambers or accept from him a pupil fee except with the prior approval in writing of the Bar Council.

4. A counsel and attorney who receives a person into his Chambers for the purpose of pupillage shall use his best
