| AN ACT TO REPEAL THE JANASAVIYA ACT, NO 4. OF 1989 | | |

| BE it enacted by the Parliament the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka as follows:- | |

Short title of the operation
| 1.This Act may be cited as the Janasaviya (Repeal) Act, No. of 1996, and shall come into force on such dates as may be appointed by the and Minister by Order published in the Gazette. | Repeal of Act No.4 of 1989.
| 2.The Janasaviya Act, No. 4 of 1989, is hereby repealed. | Sinhala text to prevail in case of inconsistency.
| 3.In the event of any inconsistency between the Sinhala and Tamil texts of this Act, the Sinhala text shall prevail. | |
