ACT To repeal the KwaZulu Cane Growers’ Association Act, 1981; and to provide for matters connected therewith.
E IT ENACTED by the Parliament of the Republic of South Africa, as follows:-
Definition
1. In this Act, unless inconsistent with the context- “KwaZulu Cane Growers’ Association Act” means the KwaZulu Cane Growers’ 5 Association Act. 1981 (Act No. 12 of 1981).
Repeal of law
2. The K W ~ Z L I I U Cane Growers’ Association Act is hereby repealed.
Transfer of assets
3. (1) The assets of the association acquired as a result of levies imposed under section 10 3( 1 ) of the KwaZulu Cane Growers’ Association Act, including the balance of levies as at the conmencement of this Act, must be transferred to a trust to be established in terms of the Trust Property Control Act. 1988 (Act No. 57 of 1988).
(7 - 1 The Minister must appoint suitable persons as trustees to administer the trust. (3) The assets transferred to the trust contemplated in subsection ( I ) must be used for 15
the deyelopment of small cane growers in KwaZulu-Natal who paid levies in tenus of the KuaZulu Cane Growers‘ Association Act.
Short title and commencement
3. This Act is called the KwaZulu Cane Growers‘ Association Act Repeal Act, 2002, and comes into operation on a date to be fixed by the President by proclamation in the 20 Go:,c1~r.
