MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 657

AUTHORIZING ATTENDANCE IN THE REGIONAL SEMINARS FOR

EDUCATORS, PUBLIC ADMINISTRATORS AND MASS MEDIA.

The Department of Public Information and the Department of Education and Culture, through the Bureau of Public Schools and the Provincial and City Administrators, will jointly hold a series of Regional Seminars for Educators, Public Administrators and Mass Media in Cebu City (Region VII), Iloilo City (Region VI), Davao City (Region XI) and Zamboanga City (Region IX), scheduled in August, September, and October, 1973, with two-week intervals.

The Secretaries of Public Information and Education and Culture, and heads of city and provincial governments are hereby authorized to sent not more than five (5) participants each to the seminar, preferably Public Information Officers, Public School Teachers, members of the police force and Barangay leaders from national and local offices within the regions where the seminars will be held, on official time with expense for transportation and other expenses incident thereto chargeable against the appropriations of their respective offices, subject to the availability of funds and the usual accounting and auditing requirements, as an exception to Memorandum Circular No. 593 dated August 8, 1972. It is understood that participants residing within the city or province where the seminar is to be conducted shall be entitled to transportation expenses only.

The participants shall submit to their respective agency heads a report on their attendance in the seminar within thirty (30) days after the termination thereof.
