MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 380

Creating a Committee to reexamine the role of the Board of Power and Waterworks in the Power Sector.

There is hereby created a Committee to conduct a study on the role of the Board of Power and Waterworks in light of Presidential Decree No. 269, dated 6 August 1973, creating the National Electrification Administration as a corporation, and giving the corporation the powers to grant, repeal and amend franchises as well as to regulate the operations of franchise holders involved in the power industry, and to recommend corrective measures/policies to define the roles/interrelationships of government agencies/corporations involved in the power sector.

The Committee shall be composed of the following:

Mr. Arthur Alvendia

Development Management Staff
Chairman

Mr. Roberto F. de Ocampo

National Electrification Administration
Member

Atty. Roque Sorioso

National Economic Development Authority
Member

Atty. Jorge Gonzales

National Power Corporation
Member

Mr. Teodoro Encarnacion

Department of Public Works
Member

The Committee as herein constituted is hereby directed to execute all such acts and undertake such activities as well as Call upon the assistance of such government agencies, bureau or offices as are necessary for the effective discharge of its functions.

This Memorandum Order takes effect immediately.
