MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 631

ENJOINING STRICT COMPLIANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENT FOR

OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES TO WEAR NAMEPLATES.

According to reports and as borne out by observation, many of our officials and employees do not wear their nameplates while in office, in violation of Memorandum Order No. 204, series of 1970, as amended, entitled: “Requiring officials and employees in the Office of the President to Wear Nameplates.” The first paragraph of the Order provides in part as follows:

“The nameplate shall be pinned or clipped conspicuously over the left breast and worn at all times the employee is on official duty during or outside of the regular office hours within the premises of Malacañang Compound, including Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.”

The wearing of nameplates has been required as a means of identification in connection with the continuing security measures being instituted in the Office of the President. The requirement should therefore be taken seriously. The heads of offices/primary units, in aid of the personnel staff of the Office, are hereby directed to see to it that this requirement is strictly complied with by the officials and employees in their respective jurisdictions, and to institute administrative disciplinary action, either under the provisions of the Revised Civil Service Law or under Presidential Decree No. 6, series of 1972, for violation thereof.
