MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 5

CREATING A TASK FORCE TO OVERSEE AND TO TAKE CHARGE OF ALL OFFICIAL RESIDENCES, GUEST HOUSES AND OTHER PROPERTIES AND ASSETS BELONGING TO OR ATTRIBUTED TO THE GOVERNMENT OF THE PHILIPPINES.

A Task Force headed by MP Egmidio S. Tanjuatco, Jr. is hereby created to oversee and to take charge of all official residences, guest houses and other properties and assets belonging to and/or attributed to the government of the Republic of the Philippines.

The Task Force shall perform the following functions:

1. Inventory, secure, conserve, maintain, hold, control and manage any and all official residences, guest houses and other properties and assets belonging to and/or attributed to the Republic of the Republic of the Philippines.

2. Investigate or cause to be investigated the ownership of official residences, guest houses and other properties and assets attributed or purported to be owned by the government of the Republic of the Philippines.

3. To recover or refer to the proper government agency for appropriate legal action all matters relating to the recovery of the properties and assets mentioned in Nos. 1 and 2 above.

4. To seek the assistance of any ministry, bureau, office, agency or instrumentality of the government in the performance of its functions.

This Memorandum Order shall take effect immediately.
