PROCLAMATION NO. 468

AMENDING PROCLAMATION NO. 464 DECLARING THE EXISTENCE OF A STATE OF PUBLIC CALAMITY IN CERTAIN AREAS OF THE CORDILLERA ADMINISTRATIVE REGION, REGION I AND REGION III

WHEREAS, according to the Secretary of National Defense and Chairman, National Disaster Coordinating Council, certain areas his by typhoon “Openg” were not immediately reached by the survey teams of the affected local disaster coordinating council;

WHEREAS, the findings of the delayed survey revealed that the provinces of Pangasinan in Region I and Ifugao in the Cordillera Administrative Region suffered most from the destructive force of typhoon “Openg”, in terms of population affected and destruction to roads, bridges, flood control and other infrastructures and agricultural crops;

WHEREAS, the declaration of a state of public calamity in the aforesaid provinces is necessary to hasten the extension of appropriate assistance and support to the typhoon victims therein by the government through its line agencies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby amend Proclamation No. 464 declaring the existence of a state of public calamity in certain areas of the Cordillera Administrative Region, Region I and Region III, to include therein Pangasinan in Region I and Ifugao in the Cordillera Administrative Region.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
