MEMORANDUM ORDER NO. 262

Pursuant to Article IX(C), Section 2(4), of the 1987 Constitution, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, do hereby concur in Resolution No. 2168, dated October 27, 1989, of the Commission on Elections deputizing, during the plebiscite period on the Organic Act for the Cordillera Autonomous Region, embodied in Republic Act No. 6766, certain national and local officials or employees, law enforcement agencies and instrumentalities, including the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine Constabulary/Integrated National Police, the National Police Commission, National Bureau of Investigation and departments, bureaus, offices or agencies of the government, including government-owned or controlled corporations and flag-carriers, and prescribing their duties and functions as deputies of the Commission.

All government agencies, officials and employees deputized by the Commission on Elections pursuant to this Memorandum Order are hereby directed to coordinate and cooperate with the Commission on Elections in the performance of their respective duties and functions.

This Memorandum Order shall take effect immediately.

DONE in the City of Manila, this 3rd day of November, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and eighty-nine.
