EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 456

REVOKING EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 423, SERIES OF 1990, AS AMENDED

WHEREAS, price ceilings on certain prime and essential commodities, such as rice, milk, sugar, pork liempo, hard flour, chicken and cooking oil, was set under Executive Order No. 423, series of 1990, as amended, in order to prevent unreasonable increases on the prices thereof and to protect the consumers from unscrupulous trade practices;

WHEREAS, Executive Order No. 451, series of 1991, lifted the price ceiling for rice, sugar, chicken, cooking oil and hard flour;

WHEREAS, as the supply and the prices of the other prime and essential commodities have normalized and stabilized, the continuous impositions of price controls is no longer necessary;

NOW, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby order:

Section 1. Executive Order No. 423, series of 1991, as amended, is hereby revoked.

Sec. 2. This Executive Order shall take effect immediately upon publication in a national newspaper of general circulation.

Done in the City of Manila, this 30th day of April, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and ninety-one.
