MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 59

AUTHORIZING ATTENDANCE IN THE SEMINAR WORKSHOP ON THE THEME “THE CHANGING ROLE OF THE LIBRARIAN IN THE YEAR 2000.” TO BE HELD AT THE DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY OF THE PHILIPPINES (DAP) CONFERENCE CENTER IN TAGAYTAY CITY ON SEPTEMBER 16–18, 1993.

The Association of Special Libraries of the Philippines (ASLP) will hold a seminar workshop on September 16–18, 1993 at the DAP Conference Center in Tagaytay City on the theme “The Changing Role of the Librarian in the Year 2000.” Its general objective is to enable the librarian to adapt to the changing times, taking into consideration the new technologies he/she can avail of in responding to the growing and changing formation requirements of the library clientele.

The participation of government librarians in the seminar workshop on official time, without government expense involved, is hereby authorized. Heads of agencies/offices concerned shall determine the number of participants, provided there will be no disruption of normal office services/activities.

Participants shall, within a reasonable period thereafter, submit to their respective agency heads a complete report on their attendance in the seminar workshop. Likewise, ASLP shall submit to this Office a report and evaluation of the said seminar workshop, including a list of participants from the government sector, indicating their respective offices, copy furnished the Civil Service Commission.
